Sweet Adeline of the Year

Every year, Virginia Coast Chorus recognizes and celebrates the contributions of a Sweet Adeline of the Year, and this year's well-deserving recipient is our very own worker-bee, Betsy Smith.

We can't even begin to thank Betsy enough for all the time she devotes to VCC preparing for each week's rehearsals, not to mention the countless hours spent away from chorus coordinating successful events.

Betsy continues to make numerous contributions to the chorus serving in her capacity as Human Resources Manager and Facilities Chairwoman, and in her role as a committee member handling duties in areas of Public Relations / Ways and Means, Physical Warm-ups and Add-A-Line Correspondence.  She is responsible for coordinating new-member orientation, organizing rehearsal set-ups, keeping our chorus equipment inventories on track and making sure the contact information for every chorus member is updated on a regular basis.  Betsy is also in charge of organizing the final evening event at our annual Retreat which is jam-packed FULL of VCC camaraderie and fun.

In her time away from chorus activities, Betsy loves to play softball and ride her bike. Who knew we would reap such rewards when Betsy walked through our doors, ready to give of her time and share her multitude of talents in our love of barbershop harmony, every week, every day.  Oh, and by the way, Betsy sings Baritone.

Virginia Coast Chorus is thrilled to proclaim Betsy Smith as this year's (2012) Sweet Adeline of the Year.  Thank you Betsy for ALL you do and continue to do for Virginia Coast Chorus.  CONGRATULATIONS and heart felt HUGS and love from your VCC sisters.
