VCC Sweet Adeline of the Year (2011) - Denise Martin

Every year Virginia Coast Chorus recognizes our Sweet Adeline of the Year, and this year’s very special recipient was our lovely and talented Interim Director, Denise Martin.  We can never thank her enough for sharing her time, energy and musical skills with us through our search for a new director.  Denise continues to make many contributions to the chorus serving as an Assistant Director, as the Artistic Director and as the Tenor Section Leader.  Denise is the “Fire” in Fire & Ice Quartet and she loves to work with young people through the Barbershop Harmony Society while serving on the Youth In Harmony faculty located at Harmony College East.  In her time away from chorus activities, Denise and her husband, Joe, never miss attending a BHS convention, do a bit of tag singing, love traveling, enjoy watching hockey games and rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
